When it comes to choosing your corsage and boutonniere for a special occasion, consider taking these few steps.

Every corsage begins with a ribbon bow and some greenery. The flowers are then added, but the ribbon remains a staple in your corsage in the end. I recommend matching the ribbon color to the shade of your dress. If you can't find the perfect color match, that's okay.

In such cases, I suggest matching the ribbon to your shoes or selecting a neutral color. Once you've chosen your ribbon color, it's time to start adding the flowers. You can also match the flower color to that of your dress, especially if you couldn't find a ribbon color that quite matches.

Regarding flower type, everyone has different preferences. While most people opt for roses, if that isn't precisely what you're looking for, consider pixie carnations or any other flower that suits your taste.

Some individuals choose to incorporate a secondary flower. This flower falls between the size of the main flower and the filler flower. It's usually added to provide a subtle pop of color without overshadowing the main flowers.

Finally, the filler flower is added. This flower ties the corsage together, filling in gaps and creating an even and perfect corsage.

Boutonnieres are similar, but guys typically match their Boutonniere to their date's attire or choose something neutral. Boutonnieres can be stunning when done perfectly.

Starting with the main flower, you can match it to your tie or your date's dress. If you opt for a secondary flower, try to add something colorful to really make it pop.

Next, I add the greenery and filler flower. While many guys tend to match their dates, it's not mandatory. Once it's all put together, I wrap the stem with a ribbon of your choice. This adds a polished look to the boutonniere.

Basically all you have to do is match some aspects of your outfits with your corsage or boutonniere and it is sure to match. But, all that really matters is that you love it in the end.
